One thing I could never understand. Noboby, I mean nobody ever tried to discourage me and my friends from going out in service. Why did everyone seem to think it was a great idea to send a group of cute teenage girls to strangers' homes? Where are these people's brains? I never mentioned anything about it for fear of being labled weak or lazy or trying to get out of service. I was stupid, too.

Out Witnessing = My wife hands out our home phone number to strangers!!!
by Witness 007 indesperate to make a convert i'm amazed how witnesses behave.
like my wife we were on vacation, witnessing, we met a guy who was visiting his mother but came from our city.
after talking for a while my wife tells him which suburb we live in and leaves our home phone number telling him to call me when we get back and i can take him to the meetings.

Is the "My Book of Bible Stories" appropriate reading for Little Ones?

now, i have never gotten around to going to a book store and actually buying a childrens bible story book from the shops (yes...i still have a bit of a mental block and some deep seated issues about any religious literature).
my mom gave my kids a copy of the bible story book, as well as listening to the great teacher (the new soft cover book - think it is called that?

No body wants the responsibility of a Bible study. But I agree with Sir Nose, you gotta string those householders along. You start asking everyone for a Bible study, they all turn you down, then you have no where to waste your time Saturday a.m.

One time as I was walking away from a door that I thought no one was at, it suddenly opened and startled me. I was really flustered and sort of forgot how to talk. All I could get out was "Uh, we're just some Jehovah's Witnesses..." The man promptly shut the door.
Another thing I used to do alot was instead of telling people to "have a good day", I would say "have a good idea". I hated when I did that!

My years as a Social Misfit - memories come flooding back!
by Princess Daisy Boo inso i was on facebook last night and just started randomly searching names and checking out people i knew, their profiles and friends etc and i came across a whole bunch of names of jw people i knew as a teenager.
a whole host of memories came flooding back, unpleasant and happily forgotten memories.. ... feeling lonley, unpopular, gossip, cliquiness, bitchy comments, feeling like i would never attract a suitable "brother" for courtship and other such silliness.... i went to bed feeling very disturbed and sad and uncomfortable and i had a horrible night.
but the fact is, i am now an adult and i am generally well liked by most i meet (or so i think .

...If the student qualifies for baptism before completing both books, the study should continue until the second book is finished. Even though the student is baptized, the conductor may count the time, the return visit, and the Bible study. A publisher who accompanies the conductor and participates may also count the time.I think this part is new. It used to be that only one person could count time for studying with a baptized person, if I remember correctly.
